Benefits

There are a number of benefits available for children and young people with disabilities or additional needs. We want you to be able to claim all the benefits that your child is entitled to.

The DirectGov website contains up-to-date information about benefits plus links to other useful websites.

If you need help to understand what is available for your child please contact your local Citizen’s Advice Bureau will also be able to help.

Direct Payments

Social care services can either be supplied by Suffolk County Council or you can choose to receive direct payments instead. If you receive direct payments you can arrange your child’s care and support services yourself. Direct payments can help give you more flexibility over the services you receive as well as give you more independence.
